Description

Achieving complete Z-E switching for some arylazopyrazoles has been difficult due to the photoaddressability of the ‘T-shaped’ Z-isomer. Using acid (followed by neutralisation) it is possible to achieve complete Z-E switching of 1-methyl-4-(phenyldiazenyl)-1H-pyrazole in minutes, a significant enhancement over the neutral half-life (1000 days).
